Like many guys I have always liked mechanical things, taking stuff apart to see how they work and fixing stuff. Since I can't afford an airplane or locomotive to play with I've ended up being a "car guy".

I like racing mainly because I like looking at the cars and the different indivdual systems (suspension, drivetrain, fuel delivery, electronic, etc) and how these work together as a complete system. I built a "race car" more for the design and actual construction more than for racing. For me, running the car down the track is more a test of how well I designed and built the car than the actual driving. I like walking through the pits at race and looking at the cars being torn apart and put back together more than the racing. To me a well engineered suspension setup, engine, or nitrous plumbing setuop is as much a pice of art as a sculpture or painting.
